Hello, my name is Alison Newcomer. I was born and raised in Colorado and have a passion for the outdoors. Since 1997, I have lived and worked in Fort Collins, Colorado.
My counseling approach is client-centered, strength based and collaborative. I work with clients to find personal growth through empowerment. I believe in the ability of people to overcome obstacles and work through life challenges
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, with training in Couples and Family Counseling. I am also a Certified Addictions Counselor and am trained in EMDR.
I am a member of CAMFT, AAMFT and NADCP.
In 2002, I completed a Masters in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver.
In 2009, I completed a Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis on Couples and Families from the University of Northern Colorado.
In May 2011, I completed EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training. EMDR is a technique often used for trauma, but can be applied to a variety of issues.
